It started with an idea.

Sanozone Technologies is part of the innovative environmental technology development team at Ground Effects Environmental.

Early on in the Covid-19 pandemic, the team at GEE was challenged by a customer to develop a product that disinfects hard and soft surfaces in businesses, public buildings and transportation modes to ensure interior spaces are free of coronavirus. This new technology was also tasked with eliminating aerosolized viruses without using chemicals or leaving residues.

GEE accepted that challenge and put its 23 years of experience developing patented environmental technologies into action.

GEE’s history involves treating municipal, industrial and oil and gas wastewater. As a company we have developed more than 12 patented, commercialized products, five of which are electrokinetic technologies.

GEE has received multiple business and industry awards, including four ABEX awards and two nominations for Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year for company founder Sean Frisky.

We are well known in the environmental field for manufacturing and designing large scale industrial waste water treatment processes and have manufacturing partners in Houston, Texas; Melbourne, Australia; and Doetinchem, the Netherlands.

GEE leveraged its knowledge of wastewater treatment and the use of ozone in municipal wastewater treatment to develop the SANOZONE.

SANOZONE has third party validation that the system disinfects interior spaces, deactivating 99.9 per cent of SARS CoV-2 while also killing other bacteria and pathogens.

The SANOZONE has recently been recognized with an ABEX award for new product development and has received federal and provincial support for its research and design.
